- Introduction 

The purpose of this site is to provide modders a visual reference to aid in correctly tagging vehicles to import into Red Storm Entertainment's Ghost Recon. It will not show you how to model or texture one. There are plenty of sites with tutorials on how to make models in 3ds Max. Try 3dbuzz.com or do a search on any search engine for 3d models.

You will need the following to complete this tutorial:

3ds Max (Discreet.com)

IGOR (found in your Ghost Recon Directory)

Level Exporter plugins from Red Storm Entertainment (found in your extras folder on Island Thunder)

A Textured Vehicle Model in 3ds Max

One of the things that the modding community has been lacking in my opinion is vehicles. There aren't enough of them for the variety that most people would like to see in the game. One of the reasons for this is a lack of understanding on how to tag one in Studio Max. My aim for this tutorial is to provide a better understanding on how to accomplish this.

 

A site that I highly recommend is Joseph "Piggyson" Drust's site. I will be referring to his documentation frequently throughout this tutorial.
